A line drawn in public

The AI Builder Initiative

A pledge for builders who aim AI at peace.

The manifesto

The most powerful tools in human history are now in human hands — and only a few thousand people on Earth can truly wield them. That scarcity is not a privilege. It is a responsibility.

Power can be aimed at two things: creation or consumption. Peace or harm. The same tool builds a world or burns one. The difference has never been the tool. It has always been the hand, and where it aims.

We are builders. We choose peace.

We refuse to build AI as a weapon against humans. We refuse to let our work be stolen and turned to harm. We refuse to let the work of those who build for peace die with them — because the mission must outlive the builder. And we bring it first to those furthest from it.

This is not a company. It is a line we draw, together, in public.

The pledge
  1. Build toward human peace and flourishing — never AI weapons for war on humans, never applications that harm people.
  2. Never let peace-work die. If a builder of a human-peace program falls or has their work stolen, that work is released to all humanity — with the builder's name on it, permanently.
  3. Protect the builder. Credit is locked and unerasable; theft of peace-work triggers its free release — denying the thief, honoring the maker.
  4. Bind the work to no-harm — ethical-use terms that travel with it, even when it's open.
  5. Redistribute and uplift — to those furthest from it, first. Bring the funds, the method, and the capability to the underserved, with programs adapted to their real difficulties. Meet people where they are; build the on-ramp for them.
Aimed at love. Mission over self. Built for the next generation.
